7 Reasons your Blog doesn’t Work
1. Are you blogging everyday?
If you are serious about making money from your blog, then you should be posting at least once per day.This is probably the most common reason why your blog doesn’t work.
If Google sees new content has been added every time it visits, it will visit more often and your content will receive better rankings.
2. The Quality of your Content is not good enough
Make sure that the quality of your posts is good enough.
Is your content original?
Is it well written?
Does it offer ‘value’ to your readers?
Poor quality content is another big reason why a blog doesn’t work as well as it should. Google wants to see quality content, well written and presented, so give them what they want.
3. Are you building your list?
If you are not collecting email addresses then you are missing an opportunity to connect with your readers.
4. Are you pinging your new posts?
Every time you post new content. you should ‘ping’ your blog so that the major search engines know that there is new content to read.
There are several pinging services available, www.googleping.com, www.ping.in and Feedshark all work well.
Pinging allows the major search engines to find your new content quickly, often, people will complain that their blog doesn’t work, and they are not telling the search engines that they have published new content!
5. Are you bookmarking all your posts?
Each post that you publish should be bookmarked in sites such as delicious, digg, reddit, diigo, stumbleupon, etc again, this is often a big reason why a blog doesn’t work.
6. Are you promoting your blog posts via Social Media?
Each post should be publicised via your Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Myspace, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Instagram accounts.
7. Are you building back links?
Back-links to your pages are the driving force that will propel your blog up the rankings to where the traffic lives.
Guest Blogging is an easy way to begin to create quality back-links for your blog, and gives you total control over the precise placement of your links. For the best results, include your links within your content using suitable link text related to your blog post that you are linking to.
Your guest post should ideally be on the same topic as the post you are linking to, and should be on a blog that has a related subject to your own.
If your blog doesn’t work, then keep doing all of the above things and it will start to work for you.
To be successful you need to do all of the above things, and keep doing them day after day until your site ranks well and you have a regular readers that keep coming back for more.
