Blogging for profit checklist
This handy blogging for profit checklist will keep your blog moving in the right direction and get you generating money from your blog as quickly as possible.
If you are going to make a living blogging for profit, then you need two main ingredients; you need targeted traffic that engages with your content, and then you need targeted offers that convert well.
The process all starts with quality content, which you need to produce on a regular basis, ideally daily so that your visitors have a consistent stream of new content to read.
Once you have the core of your blog built, and are adding regular, high quality content, you will begin to attract visitors and will be beginning to collect their contact details so you can stay in touch with them.
As your readership grows, you will be in a position to begin targeting your visitors with suitable offers related to your content, and this is when you start blogging for profit. If you are blogging for profit, there is no point trying to sell piano’s if all your content is about custom cars.
There are many ways to find suitable offers to add to your blog pages.
Blogging for Profit – Monetisation
You can use Clickbank to find affiliate offers related to your niche and then add banners for those products into your content.
Another good way to find affiliate offers for your niche, is to search for your niche + ‘affiliate’ and you will get a list of opportunities to make money promoting the goods and services of related companies.
You can also monetise your blog with Google Adsense Pay per Click Ads.
All you need to do is set up an account with Google Adsense, choose the size and style of your Ad block, and then copy the code into the html code for your blog page.
Once you have added the code, Google will tailor the Ads shown on your page to your content, so they are themed to your niche content.
If any of your visitors then click on one of your Google Ads, you will receive a payment, depending on the amounts bid by advertisers.
With affiliate ads, you will only get paid if your visitor actually signs up to the offer. This means that you will not earn anything just for sending visitors, but only if they convert, so the quality of the offers that you promote is important.
Affiliate offers typically pay 40 – 60% of the initial sale price, so your earning will rack up quickly when you find an offer that converts well for you.
Many affiliate offers also have residual incomes as they have monthly payments going forward. As the person that originally introduced the offer to them, you will receive an ongoing payment for each future payment too, so try to find offers with monthly residuals as they will continue to pay you month after month.
Depending on your niche, different offers, and different monetisation methods will either work for you or not. It will take a little trial and error to find offers that convert well and earn you money, so trial some first, and if they don’t convert after you have had 500 – 1000 page views, then change them for a different offer.
