Link Building & Blogging
There will come a time in your blogging career when you want to get higher search engine rankings and more, targeted visitors. Link building is the process of making other websites and blogs link to your site to boost its online popularity.
In order to get those rankings, your blog needs back-links. Back-links are links from other sites and blogs, pointing to your blog posts, which Google finds, adds up and rewards you for.
Back-links come in all shapes and sizes, but to get started, you want to focus on link building from related topic sites, linking using your URL, brand name, or post title to different pages of your blog.
Google doesn’t like to see too many targeted links that use the same specific keyword or search phrase, so make sure that you vary the ‘link text’ in the links that you ask for so that they benefit your blog.
Guest blogging on related blogs is a great way to get started link building and provide high quality themed links that Google will love.
Search for blogs in your niche + “guest post” and you will hopefully find some examples of blogs that are happy to publish guest posts.
Link Building – How to Guest Post
First and foremost, you need to send high quality content, that is also original to you and well written. If it is low quality, then you won’t be accepted, so aim for quality, and you will soon have some great backlinks.
Link Building – How to Structure a Guest Post
Make each guest post informative and useful to readers, offer them valuable incite, tips etc that will help them. THIS IS NOT ABOUT SELLING YOUR STUFF!!
Once you have put together a great post, add your ‘Author Link’ at the bottom (with a link to one of your relevant blog posts) and submit it.
Keep a link building record of what content you have submitted where, and then, if a post isn’t published somewhere, you can reuse it by submitting it to another blog that accepts guest posts.
