How to Create a List of Blog Content Ideas
Every blogger will have days when they can’t think of anything to write about. In order to overcome this, you need a list of blog content ideas that you can call on whenever you are lacking inspiration for new content.
This process will give you a list of new blog posts to write that will last you for months, if not a year or more (depending on how often you publish new content).
There are two elements that are important here, firstly you need to be able to come up with subject matter to post about, and then you need to present it in a way that will be compelling for your readers.
Finding Blog Topic Ideas
The easiest way to come up with new ideas is to use the Google keyword tool to search fro all the terms and phrases that are currently being searched for online.
To begin, sign into your Google account, go to the keyword tool, and search for keywords related to your niche or topic, using the ‘exact match’ option on the left hand side.
This will give you a basic list, which you can develop by separating the list into different areas of your niche.
If you then take a few keywords from on particular area and enter them into the keyword tool, Google will offer you additional options that weren’t in your first list.
Repeat this process for all the search terms that you can think of, and follow suitable suggestions from the keyword tool, until you have downloaded lots of keyword lists of phrases related to your niche.
Once downloaded as spreadsheets, you can sort the data by search volume so you will have a long list of ‘longtail’ keywords related to your niche that have real traffic searches.
Part two of this process is to develop ‘Headlines’ for each of those new posts.
Headlines are an important part of the blogging process. Your blog needs to stand out from the masses and encourage readers to click on your post.
Headlines are the way to do that and writing a good headline is a skill that you can learn.
There are several headline ‘templates’ that we use to create great headlines that are proven to convert into clicks.

Which article would you click through to read?

….. it is the purpose of your headline to make people read your post, then it is the purpose of your post to make people join your newsletter, download more information or make a purchase.
You will end up with a master spreadsheet containing a long list of potential keywords, with their related traffic and a compelling headline.
If you post twice a week, then a list of 50 great headlines will keep you going for 6 months, and we guarantee that along the way some of those posts you create will spawn offshoot posts with more detail about part of that content.
It is well worth your time and effort to create a topic list as it will save you much more time in the coming weeks and months.
Everytime you are stuck for a topic, you will just pick one off the list and start writing….. what could be easier?
