Social Bookmarking
Part of your blogging strategy should be to use social bookmarking to index your new content.
Social bookmark offer you several opportunities to promote your blog or website.
First, bookmarking sites are used by millions of people so they can drive large volumes of traffic to your content as people find your bookmarks on different bookmarking websites.
Secondly, bookmark add up as back-links to your site, so they help you with your search engine rankings.
The more people bookmark your pages, the more influential your pages will become, so begin by bookmarking your own content in as many different places as you can.
We suggest using these;
Digg
Reddit
Delicious
Diigo
Google Bookmarks
Stumbleupon
Yahoo Bookmarks
Bibsonomy
Each of these will improve the visibility and traffic to your blog. As more people find your bookmarks, more people will visit your content and use social bookmarking to save your page content, further building your online authority.
As well as sharing your content on your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+ accounts, this will make sure that your content has a good initial social exposure.
We recommend adding a ‘share’ plugin on your blog pages, to make it easy for people to share your content.
It can be worth your while to set up a few accounts with each of the bookmarking sites so that you can get the ball rolling with 4 – 5 bookmarks for your blog posts during the first few days after they are posted. Is that cheating, or offering your content a helping hand?
