Blog Post Length Suggestions. How Much Should you Write for each Post?

How Much Should you Write? What’s the best blog post length?

This is a question that we are asked on a frequent basis, and the answer is that your blog post length should be as long as it needs to be.

A ball park figure is over 300 words per post, but rather than producing regimented site with identical blog post length, you will do better to write what needs to be said.

If you have a particularly long post then if the content lends itself to being split in two then do so, but if it requires 1000 or 2000 words to say what you need to say then one longer post is fine.

Having said that, longer posts are read more often if you break them up with images, videos etc and it is always better to use short paragraphs as the majority of people are put off by large blocks of text.

Your Blog Post Length

Readers can tell if you have something to say or if you are just trying to hit your word count, so shorter posts can work too if you don’t have much to say on a particular topic.

If the majority of your posts have a word count of 300 – 600 words, then you can include a few when required with less words and they will still perform for you.

This post for example, is no longer than it needs to be in order to give you the information you need.
